Happy Hour Friday - Sam Phillips

The video I really wanted to share with you won't allow embedding, so I'll link to it here, in the remote chance that there is anyone else out there who is a Sam Phillips fan. She is this Sam Phillips, no this Sam Phillips. It gets  a little confusing...

Here is a video I did find by Sam Phillips for a song off the album Martinis and Bikinis, from 1994.

  2. I love SP's recorded stuff, but found her to be stilted in live performance... I don't know, maybe it was some sort of stage persona, but she stood like a mannequin for the entire show. T-bone was more fun to watch, much more animate.

Thanks for this clip. I hadn't heard her for a while. Do you know if she's she still recording?

  3. Glad you took the time to check it out, Sandy and Cloudia.

CR - she is quirky and I have seen youtube videos of her in concert and she, well...sucks! Her brilliance is her songwriting and Beatles influenced compositions and the studio wizardry has got to be T. Bone Burnett's amazing production talents.
