Ricky Lee Jones

7 comments:

  1. I've always been just passingly interested in her music, but I have to say, this has me swallowing hard to choke back the tears - whatever the hell she was singing about, she obviously felt it very deeply, and her passion overtook me kike a fast train on a lonely stretch of track.

It also revealed her to me as the root of a kind of song writing which has grown to include many beautiful blossoms.

  2. I haven't been very interested in singer songwriters these past few decades but Ricky Lee Jones will always be one of the few favorites.

    Very nice song choice :-)

  3. Love her. (And that was even before checking out her lo-o-ong legs in the top shot.) BTW, if you go to the Atheneum this weekend, you will miss the opening of a Monet water lilies exhibit by one week. Might want to go elsewhere this weekend and Wadsworth next.

  6. P.S. to Jack - the reason I can't leave comments on your blog is because I have off and on problems with blogs that use the embedded comments box. On the other hand, there are those who have trouble with the pop-up feature. I do read Hartford Daily. I wanted you to know that if you're following comments here.

  7. I encourage you all to check out Ricky Lee's "Pirates". Listen to the songs but also read the lyrics. She is quite a poet.
