It isn't just fashion.
Yesterday I posted a mini-rant about how depressed I am about President Obama requesting a ton of troops to go fisnish off goddess-knows what in Afghanistan. With a plan or exit strategy. And I played an old Vietnam protest song. Useless, really and not my typical blogging style when it comes to geo-political issues.
So here I am back to form again. I'm agianst war for moral reasons, so I cannot, in good consciouce, give an inch to the idea. But when a president proposes some war effort such as this, if we are going to get ahead with it, we need a timeline and an exit strategy. Is there a plan?
So here's a message I recieved today from the gals at Code Pink:
National Call In Day - September 30, 2009
Tell Congress:
Tell Congress:
- NO on the 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill
- NO on an escalation in Afghanistan
- YES on Congressman James McGovern's Bill H.R. 2404 requiring President Obama to provide an exit plan from Afghanistan

Haven't been able to keep the computer on long enough to read all I'd like to, so didn't see this until tonight. But I trust it won't be too late to contact Congress tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAre you aware of my other blog?
ReplyDeleteThe Ashland Peace blog. Started when I went to the streets while living up north. I resurrected it as Obama's promises to end the war sputtered. Now, in this latest post, is information on how to make those contacts and write those letters.
