What's Goin' On

How was every one's weekend? Back to work tomorrow but that's a good thing. To speak plainly: I feel fortunate that I have a job and health insurance benefits, sick time and a union. And I'm doing my damnest to make the most of it. Doom and gloom everywhere. And there is no end in sight! I'm looking at the depressing prospect of launching my first-born into this economy when she graduates from college later this year. :-/ Yikes.

Meanwhile life tumbles along. I've posted some nice art for Mellow Yellow Monday - go to The Pagan's Eye to check it out.

I also plan to square up some music or some insane youtube nonsense or lotsense. Stay tuned.

Make Love, Not War, Children. Don't forget to love the kids and the animals. Remember to pay attention to everything. Take care of your heart while at the same time holding your own. Feel deserving.
(I don't know what' s gotten in to me with the preaching. ;-)

Love all; trust a few; do harm to none.

  3. Oh, such good advice!

And the Shakespeare quote was right in line with your last paragraph. You could have added it in with your words and I wouldn't have suspected a thing.

gina, you are such a sweetheart! and I AM here!! don't you SEE ME?? I too have a dear child about to graduate and go into a very harsh place...I am hoping his doctorate will get him somewhere besides a dead end job but am not so sure at this point....he says he can always be a carpenter ;) ... sigh...they have 3 kids with one more on the way...YAY and uh oh... well, what can we do but hope we can all live together in one large commune if necessary...my other son and his wife went to singapore to live for awhile as their jobs, hers especially, were looking a little shaky here...damn... I hate this..

  6. Thanks as always for your beautiful words! They are so welcomed and appreciated! All four of my kids are worried, anxious, scared and all I can do is be there for them. Don't have the means to do anything else I'm afraid. Scary times, but I just have to believe that we can pull out of this -- although maybe not as soon as I would like.

  9. Linda! There you are! :-)

Your children appear to lead interesting lives. As worse as it could get; at least they have their experiences. No one can take that away. SG2 has experience waiting on tables!!! Joy. I won't let her starve. And I like the commune idea a lot. If only...

If you get this comment: could you email me at gina@gaw.com about featuring you as an artist of the week?

  10. Sylvia: I hope we can pull out of this also. If only it was just the economy we had to worry about. But we're chocking our Mother Earth, too. Deep sigh. But you're right. All we can do is keep trying to do our own part and to have hope and faith and whatever else gets us through.

Thorne: Hey! I'll be over to see what you've got to say today.

Dianne: aaaaaaaaaw. I aim for that smile of yours!

Susan: so, so true. You are wise.

My weekend was beautiful, to be followed by getting laid off today.
