Check out the fine entries at Sky Watch Friday and say hello to Tom, Sandy, Klaus, and Imac.

We traveled around a bit around western Massachusetts and southern Vermont last weekend. Here is a sampling of what we experienced.

  8. Beautiful, Gurrrl!

I've spent some time at the Side-Hill Golf Course (where the Ashfield pics were taken) and could never get anything I liked out of it.

  12. There is nothing like the New Enngland states for autumn colour.
We spent an autumn in Vermont and often climbed up the mountain to look down on the Connecticut river. Now there is a highway there. At least your beautiful shots still bring back those lovely memories.

  15. Each photo is wonderful. The colors of the leaves are spectacular. The first photo, however, is my favorite. The way the whole thing is set up just makes me happy!

  16. Pagan - I love all of these. I agree with Louise, the first one is one of your best, I think. We just returned from a trip to the NC mountains, so we also have been filling up on fall color. Maybe I'll hook up to the Sky Watch.

  18. Steve: The Sky Watch people are a great group of bloggers; nice people from all over the world.

A huge thanks to all of the Nice People From Sky Watch!

It took a while to join because I didn't have a good camera, firstly. And I lacked confidence in my pictures. But with a camera that works, I've been able to take thousands of photos. It's really a cool toy. And unless you're a total dunce, it's not hard to get a decent picture. Living in a beautiful, rural area and being able to travel occasionally makes all the difference, naturally. It's sad to think that for so many people, their surroundings are so unbearable that they feel inspired to photograph nothing or it doesn't matter any way. I know that's sobering but...it bears acknowledgment, I think.

    Bowing deeply with hands together,
    Pagan Sphinx
