Ruby Tuesday

I've had a lot of fun with the little digi-cam my daughters gave me for my 49th birthday this past July. I started participating in Camera Critters, which is a lot of fun and now I'm making a submission to Ruby Tuesday; a photo meme that involves a "little bit of red". How could I resist?

My entry is a photo of an old ship's anchor located at Ship's Company Theater in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. In the beginning days of this theater company, the plays were held in the ship. The outfit has grown and the venue now consists of a rustic building and surrounding amenities. The ship is sort of sliced up now, with a deck in the center. I would have liked to have seen a play inside the ship but I guess those are the good ol' days.

  6. Love the anchor... I grew up in a tropical location (FL) with sea-theme decor everywhere. I love it.

btw - we've been in Egypt for almost 4yrs with the Embassy. Longest I've ever lived anywhere since leaving home after HS. Longest place my hubby and kids have ever lived in one place - ever. It's a friendly and laid-back place and we'll be so sorry to leave. Looking forward to where ever the future takes us though. I blog to try and bring 'home', our home, to friends and family. I also enjoy 'traveling by web', so try to return the favor. :-)

  7. Nice photo, great concept and I love the idea of the theatre on the ship. There is a similar place in Bristol, England. It's called The Thekla and they have plays and gigs there. It used to be owned and run by the amazing Viv Stanshall of the Bonzo Dog Doh-Dah Band. Poor old Viv.

  8. Dianne: I thought I signed Mr. Linky. Oh, dear...I will check.

And thanks, I'm no real photographer but I enjoy snapping away now that I have a decent little camera, a memory card that holds 500+ images and a battery charger! Never experienced such luxury before!

    DCup: Thanks, luv!

Steve: ooooooh, what lovely orange you paint! :-)

Connie: I'm glad you stopped by again! I'm so interested in your blog. I would be anyway, because it's what a person brings to it but it's so cool that you're in Cairo. I'll be by again.

SB: lol...I have no idea who good old Viv was but I'm trying to picture him/her ( ? ) doing something on stage on an old ship. Hmmmmm....;-)

    Sherri: thanks, luv!
