The Fruit of Love

"If music be the fruit of love, play on,

Give me excess of it; that surfeiting,
The appetite may sicken, and so die. "

  1. Just got to thinking about a historical mash-up: Imagine someone like Caravaggio or Vermeer painting Hendrix or Keith Richards! :-)

  3. Beautiful set of art, I even recognized a couple. I love the Whistler, and for some reason Miro speaks to me.

  4. Dear Gina, this is the greatest feast you have yet offered the eager visitor! You are a superb curator.

In a day or so I hope to have completed and published the promised piece dedicated to you, on Fernando Pessoa, with no mention of you know what. By way of apology and penance.

  5. Thank you, Gina. Such diversity with the same theme. Very inviting. Worth seeing with attention, and more than once. No comparison as each artist had a very different vision of what music entailed.

Actually, when my Studio Chanterelle was still active, I composed a photo album with my students at the piano. Except for my (then young) son, and very recently his son, both serious as always, all the students are smiling at me. Thanks the gods! If they had been in a Picasso blue period, I might have given up teaching the scales and Bach.

@Francis - It would have been fun to see what neatness and warm colouring would have done to the musicians you mention. Or would they have influenced the painters'style. To know...To know...
