Ruby Tuesday

One of the more interesting and culturally interesting buildings I saw and photographed while visiting San Francisco this summer. This is the Women's Building at the corner of 18th and Mission.

  1. Amazing pictures of strong, happy women. I particularly fell for the one of a smiling woman in a wheel chair. She's triumphantly folding her hands over her head, wearing a T shirt with the slogan "Earn your attitude. Act up."
    Way to go!

  2. This is incredible the first time I seen pictures like this on the side of a building was in Mexico City at the University. It blew me away. These remind me of that

  3. Awesome series of photos! The building becomes a three dimensional outdoor gallery! I too am attracted to the energy of the woman in the wheelchair! What a statement of inner strength!

  4. Wow! This building is covered from head to toe. Makes me think, "Diego Rivera was here." You could look at this building all day long and still not find every nuance of meaning!

  9. I like the artistry, the brick building facades an neat canvas for the artists, a broad base for stunning art. I like the very first picture - i don't know if the artist had this in mind, but the arched window and fire escape seem like an earring on the subject. Perhaps it is my imagination, but it fits ver well on this wall!

  10. I adore the artwork, but the "Georgia O'Keefe" (ish) one caught my eye, like it best.

    Happy Tuesday!
