Shadow Shot Sunday

We actually experienced a strange weather phenomenon here in Western Massachusetts on Tuesday:  a microburst. It was very quick but there were a lot of trees and powerlines down in the roads, branches and lawn furniture flying and people taking cover. This photo was taken just minutes after the microburst passed, leaving everything calm and the sun trying to come out.  The new spring-green leaves of our sugar maple caught my eye and I snapped.

Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there!

Shadow Shot Sunday is hosted by Tracy from Australia and features lots of excellent entries weekly, from all over the globe.

I was in a snowstorm in New Mexico as I traveled back towards home. Strange weather indeed!

    Peace.

Your sugar maple shadows are very beautiful. That is an odd thing to have happen.

  6. The feeling of depth is accented by the shadows. The nearly flat leaves now feel as if they are a true 3-D in style. The mayhem of the storm has thankfully passes, and the natural beauty has returned a bit more forcefully!

  8. At least it left your tree standing alowing for a lovely shadow shot. I recall being at a wedding in South Deerfield a few years ago and the Justice of the Peace almost didn't make it do to one of those micro-bursts. You do get some interesting weather in your part of the country.
