Your Daily Art

I can't make up my mind whether I should continue the Give Us This Day daily art blog or post or post an image daily here, with the other posts. Or both. For now I am so enchanted by this gorgeous painting, I had to share it with you.

  4. Linda: I think I'm guilty of spending too much time composing blog posts and (sometimes) ignoring tasks like housework and paperwork.

Bobbie: I'm glad you liked this painting. Childe-Hassam is an amazing American impressionist who produced some truly spectacular images. He painted a lot of city scenes - this one, in NYC and others abroad. Really beautiful stuff.

Hi, imac: winter seems romantic in these paintings but NYC winters have always been tamer than the ones we experience here in Massachusetts, so close to Vermont.

Thanks to you three for visiting.

  5. Ah yes, the epitome of winter delight in a quieter time than ours.

  6. Susan: I love Childe-Hassam - my favorite American impressionist. I wonder if someone were to paint a NYC scene today in that style, how it would come off compared to this one...
