  4. Ahhh yes, the nudes. The stick figures i drew when I was a child never had any clothes on. Just thought you'd like to know.

I liked the Bernard. Cows can be red, like herefords. Wonder what the connection is and why the bathers were where the cow would graze.?

  5. What a great selection of modern painting!

Gina, answering to your question, the 'Where is their vote sign' is just my humble way of showing support to the people in Iran fighting for self-determination. Please go to my 'Oeiras and environs blog' and read the top message. Thank you.

  6. I love the Rotluff and the Bernard best - I like the shapes, colors, strange real-world compositions. The Bernard shows the cropping that fascinated artists at that time, when the snapshot first became possible, and casual photographs were not composed and had messy edges, with things (and people) cut in half... They loved the edgy feeling of this, the modern and even somewhat Asian way this felt, and the flattening of the image caused by the monocular vision of the camera, and it came out in their art, whether painted from photos or not.

  7. Always interesting to discover new paintings on your blog....Without it I think I wouldn't make the effort to open Internet, searching for paintings.
Each Friday is a new day of learning, discovering painters; and appreciating Art.
