  1. I am really liking that first pic with the skeleton. Very nice.

  2. Heh, that last one totally makes me think of the soap opera relationship that I've become obsessed with: "Otalia" (Olivia & Natalia), on Guiding Light. [To shameless blog-whore, I've written about it here ]

I'm calling her (the girl in the painting) "Natalia". C'mon, Nat, you know your love's not sinful: put down the Bible and cross and just DO Liv before she *explodes* (from sexual frustration). You can pray some more in the morning! [Besides, I think Liv will have you crying "Oh God, Sweet Jesus!" in an entirely new&different kinda way. ;-)]

A great set as always, Gina (and thanks for feeding my obsession).

  3. Albeit inadvertently, my dear JCF. But you're welcome. You crack me up! :-D

Lemmy: I was very struck by the first painting as well. I believe there is history; a story behind it, which I didn't have time to delve into. But given sufficient interest, I'm known to dig up dirt and write a follow-up post! ;-) Thanks for stopping by!

  4. P.S. to Lemme: I listened to the audio clip on your profile. Isn't that from There Will Be Blood? Great movie.

  5. It like the last one. Nakedness just suggested is even more ....suggestive. And her eyes ! It's just like a defiant look. Kind of provocation here. That's what I feel.
I wonder what does she meditate, certainly not about her religious reading.
It's amazing how we can comment on a painting even more, when the painter is skilled, than on a picture. As Picasso said : Who sees the human face correctly: the photographer, the mirror, or the painter". With that painting, we get the answer. He didn't paint the portrait, the face, but what is hidden behind, no ?
Really, Gina, I love your blog, so much different.

  6. It's a very nice selection you've found for us this week. Toulouse-Latrec has always been a particular favorite of mine.

  7. These are amazing, from the interior monologue suggested in the first to the innocent irony of the last.

You're a gift, Gina. Thanks for being here.

  8. What a great set. I'm a fan of Delacroix, but there's something very intriguing about the expression on the last.

  9. the last is my hand's down favorite and it's because of her expression...it tells a story, one we don't know but our imaginations come unglued guessing...at least mine does and based on reading your comments, a few others as well.......they are all wonderful however...

thank you gina, for posting your nudes, they are such a fun delight each week.
