Supergirls One and Two, July 4th, 2008

I'm trying out the new digi-cam that The Supergirls gave to me for my birthday yesterday. My birthday was actually on July 1 but we celebrated it on the 4th with W.P., his daughter L.P. and fiance', Alice, W.P.'s mother and A.P., his sister.

The photo above was taken last night at a spur-of-moment fireworks trek to southern Vermont. It's much chillier up north a ways and The Supergirls huddled under their blanket for warmth, as the sky lit up with fireworks. One of shells that was sent up exploded into a red heart momentarily. Sweet.

The best birthday gift the P family gave to me was their acceptance and congratulatory spirit toward Supergirl One's engagement to her Beloved. If there' s such a thing as a blessing, they have given it to me by the acceptance and decency I've been met with when I became a part of this family.

Which reminds me. I keep forgetting to tell you that W.P. and I are now officially engaged as well. Ring and everything. ;-) Please join me in raising a glass to my second time around.

No date. No hurry. :-)

  2. Dear Bear,
I am saddened to hear of your departure from blogging. I don't know what else to say, given that you've shut off the comments in your departure post.

I have so enjoyed your blog and I will miss you. I hope you recover from the bad taste left in your mouth by the words that have so affected you, and that you return to your blog and share with us what happened. Perhaps we can be a source of support for you.

    Your in peace,
    Pagan

The supergirls are beautiful reflecting the beauty and spirit of both their parents. And that picture is fantastic!

  4. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, congratulations to you, WP and SG1! Beautiful photo, too. It sounds like that new camera is going to have some opportunities to get a real workout.

  8. You people are so great. How I wish you were my neighbors as well as my friends!

Thank you for being there. Not very original but from the heart.

Betmo: There's a lot of that going around. Just look at DCup and Mathman. I'm so happy for you and Mr. Betmo.

And Sherry, love certainly is in the air; in its various and wonderful manifestations. Reminds me of a sort of modern A Midsummer Night's Dream...you know, Woody Allen style...lol

  9. Pagan,
Thanks you. I shall certainly continue to read your blog, which always brings me much pleasure. I'm sorry to have to stop writing at the moment. The support you have given me is appreciated more than I can say but the 'freaks' that you come across from time to time, especially when you are as opinionated as I am, just make me want to keep my thoughts to myself. That's my weakness I suppose. I too many other things to consider in my life at the moment to rise to battle with idiots.

Hope you don't mind if I continue to comment at your lovely place.

    Peace,
    Bear

  10. Dear Bear,
Yes, you certainly do have a lot to contend with right now. And I wish you the strength needed to continue that fight.

I certainly hope you do come by to comment! I look forward to it.

Peace and healing to you from this negative experience.

And your girls- well you don't need me to tell you that they are gorgeous! Their lights shine from deep within.

  12. Yeah, Fran, don't they? Such good people, those two.

And PS and WP, what a cool combination! If you only knew...

Hugs all around (though in truth I think WP would go all rigid at the thought  )
