Still Life With Book

I started a post which featured a lot of profanity and decided I'm just too angry with McBush to attempt at writing about it. I think I'll go read.

But first, a nice picture. There. I feel
better.

Henri Matisse
Still Life With Book

While I'm awaiting my librarian's call that Life of Pi has arrived, I started another book by Yann Martel. It has an interesting title: The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios.

  1. Lovely. Just as much a deep cleansing breath as any profanity.

  2. Well, I think I'd indulge in the profanity - at least by myself. But then get lost in the book to calm down.

  3. It's interesting that I can't post a rant on my own blog. I need to get all fired up by what other bloggers are saying! So I just went over to Dusty's (It's My Right to be Left of Center) and did just that.

The Matisse is nice, isn't it? Matisse makes my heart stop. Sigh.

  4. if the rant would help why not post it? I hesitate sometimes because I'm trying to live in the moment and be Zen and I also really love entertaining my readers BUT without exception my rants have always been met with cheers and support.

McBush is making my blood boil. And Still President Bush (thanks Jon Stewart) is so dangerous in these last few months!

The image is lovely and I hope reading helped.

  5. I'm questioning the value of thinking about McWarmonger at all.

There is absolutely no way he can win in November that does not involve radical election fraud. So what is the use in fuming over his shit now?

  6. 99: I don't know; I'm not feeling completely solid that McCain WON'T win. And election fraud is not beyond those sucks. It worked before. They think they're not accountable to anyone. They probably think that radical election fraud, as you put it, will be overlooked by the nation and the world. That's how they think. We're in charge of the U.S. and this what we're gonna do; like it or not.

I was just listening to Fresh Air...I'll find a link and post it, because in it will be yet another of countless examples of how the Republicans believe they're not accountable to anyone for what they do.

  7. Well, right, I agree there's every possibility they will steal 2008 just like they did 2004 and 2000... but I just mean McWarmonger can't say or do anything that is viable -- in the American sense -- and not really worth note. It's more productive to turn our energies toward PREVENTING the election theft than wasting our juice on that senile fuck.

  8. neuf: how do you prevent election fraud between now and November? I was just wondering what you have in mind.

  9. Well, you do as much as possible to expose the means, and there really ARE a bunch of election integrity activists getting on site in the places where they think it is the worst. So, Bev Harris at Black Box Voting is amazing, tirelessly, ceaselessly working to bust these people. Brad Friedman [The Brad Blog] and a bunch of activists made something called the "Creekside Declaration" a while back. There are a lot of people out there working, and we hook up with them, get them as much support and volunteers as we can.

I know that if I stop to let the terror of it in I will be paralyzed and it's too outrageously beyond the pale to worry about. NO WAY will he be elected, and the only way he can get in office might well be prevented if enough of us get in the right places in time to head them off at the pass... or be able, at least, to righteously challenge rigged precincts immediately... at LEAST that.
