I was kindly asked by my friend poetryman to contribute to the blog The Peace Tree. I doubt it's my creative and entertaining writing style poetryman is seeking with this invitation but instead I'm hoping he asked me because he can detect in the lines of The Pagan Sphinx, a commitment and dedication to the causes closest to my heart: peace, justice, mental health and GLBT issues.
Go on over and read my first post at The Peace Tree! I will be contributing posts every Thursday from now on. While you're there, check out the posts of several fine bloggers including poetryman, of course, and my new blog friend betmo of Life's Journey.
If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.

yeah!!! i am glad you are going to be writing at the peace tree. if you have a mind to write peace poetry- let pm know too- he had the peace poets site too. it's a challenge for me to write about peace because it seems like such a long shot- but we must try.
ReplyDeleteYour article on the Peace Tree is superb. I would give my right arm to be able to express myself as you do. You really have it all together. And this is such an important subject. Thank you, Gina.
ReplyDeletebetmo,
ReplyDeleteYes. We must try. I wish I had more time to spend on Poets for Peace. Thank goodness for you or there would be little activity, if any, on PeacePoets.
PaganS,
O my friend. I desired your writing skills and your topical island, so to speak...
Thank you for a wonderful, and I do mean that, post on The Tree. Adding you to the author list wasn't just my choice. My muse demanded it and what she demands, she gets, 9 times out of- Ouch! Hey? Okay! Okay! ...10 times out of ten. Sheesh...
Ha! You guys are great! Peace poetry, moi? I can't write poetry to save my own life, nevermind on behalf of peace. Sorry, Bet!
ReplyDeleteYou know what I'm really good at, though? Ripping off the poetry of others and displaying prominently and beautifully. ;-)
Mental health as a peace issue? I thought about it and I think being at peace with oneself has a lot to do with where to start.
I thank my friend Fran, also, who stopped by The Peace Tree and left a supportive comment. Thanks, Fran!
I think John Lennon was a wise man there.
ReplyDeleteLennon said a lot of crazy things like that.
ReplyDeleteI had never seen the John Lennon quote..but I love it! ;)
