May This Be Love - Emmylou Harris

This is a cover of the Jimi Hendrix song from Emmylou Harris' 1995 album Wrecking Ball. Between Emmylou's incredible voice, the wonderful selection of songs by great songwriters and the production work of Daniel Lanois, this is one of my favorite albums of recent years. Yikes. Thirteen years is not recent, but it just goes to show you how I haven't been counting.

Enjoy.

  2. The album came out 13 years ago!?? It's unbelievable. Does seem so recent. I like a lot of Emmylou's stuff; her voice just gets to you. Her and Gram...what a team.

  3. I love women singers with strong, earthy voices. Emmylou is fantastic. I'm a big Bonnie Raitt fan and I adore Dusty Springfield, have all the original albums.

13 years ago was yesterday :)

and the photo from yesterday of the two chairs facing the river is stunning. I want to be there.
