Olds News Is Good News

I just came upon this when doing a search for one of my favorite living poets, Sharon Olds. The letter starts off with a very cordial tone but the last three paragraphs pack a powerful punch. Well done, Ms. Olds and thank you for not attending

    Cannot tell you how good this letter made me feel. When we read what passes for news these days, it seems that everyone just goes along with the program. Thank God that isn't so.

    Oh, I'm so glad! It certainly made my day when I found it; old news as it was.

    I would encourage you to look up her poetry, though she is not for everyone. She is brutally honest in her work.
