This is a cover of the Jimi Hendrix song from Emmylou Harris' 1995 album Wrecking Ball. Between Emmylou's incredible voice, the wonderful selection of songs by great songwriters and the production work of Daniel Lanois, this is one of my favorite albums of recent years. Yikes. Thirteen years is
not recent, but it just goes to show you how I haven't been counting.
Enjoy.
i don't remember my previous comment verbatum but I'll give it a go... Let's see?

The album came out 13 years ago!?? It's unbelievable. Does seem so recent. I like a lot of Emmylou's stuff; her voice just gets to you. Her and Gram...what a team.
ReplyDeleteI love women singers with strong, earthy voices. Emmylou is fantastic. I'm a big Bonnie Raitt fan and I adore Dusty Springfield, have all the original albums.
ReplyDelete13 years ago was yesterday :)
and the photo from yesterday of the two chairs facing the river is stunning. I want to be there.
Nice blog!
ReplyDeleteThx for stoppin' by my place. :~)

ReplyDeleteI still have a major crush on Emilylou after all these years.
